Abstract: .Introduction: Iron deficiency anaemia remains a significant global public health problem, particularly among reproductive-age women, leading to adverse maternal outcomes, reduced work capacity, and impaired quality of life. Conventional oral iron therapies are often limited by poor gastrointestinal absorption, dietary inhibitors, and side effects that reduce patient compliance, highlighting the need for improved, well-tolerated formulations. Aim: To develop and evaluate a novel synergistic nutraceutical capsule designed to enhance iron bioavailability, improve hemoglobin levels, and provide better tolerability in individuals with mild anaemia. Materials and Methods: The formulation comprises an iron source, a folate component, an absorption-enhancing agent, and a probiotic strain, designed to act through complementary mechanisms. The invention was evaluated using in vitro models to assess iron uptake, in vivo animal studies to determine safety and bioavailability, and a Phase II clinical study conducted among mild anaemic reproductive-age women to assess efficacy and tolerability. Results: The formulation demonstrated enhanced iron absorption, improved hematological parameters, a favorable safety profile, and a statistically significant increase in hemoglobin levels compared to baseline values. Conelusion: The invention provides a safe, effective, and clinically translatable nutraceutical approach for enhancing iron bioavailability and managing mild anaemia, with potential for large-scale public health application.
