Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a novel method for cultivation and preparation of Wayanadan Sanjivani (Cordyceps militaris) using Njavara rice as a solid cultivation substrate and Wayanadan wild honey as a nutrient component of a liquid mycelial culture. The method comprises preparation of a honey-based liquid culture, inoculation with a pure culture of Cordyceps militaris, incubation to obtain actively growing mycelial biomass, preparation and sterilization of a Njavara rice substrate, inoculation of the substrate with the liquid mycelial culture, vegetative colonization, controlled fruiting induction, and harvesting of fruiting bodies. Cultivation parameters including honey concentration, pH, temperature, substrate moisture, inoculum quantity, humidity, illumination, and aeration are controlled to facilitate reproducible fungal growth and fruiting. The method is intended to promote efficient substrate colonization and production of fungal biomass containing cordycepin, adenosine, polysaccharides, and related metabolites. The process provides a scalable cultivation platform utilizing distinctive natural and regional substrates and is applicable to the production of standardized Cordyceps militaris material for functional food, nutraceutical, research, and other permitted applications.
