MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621083705 A) filed by Dinesh D. Gaikwad; and Mahesh S. Chavan on July 08, 2026, for A Novel Iot Based Smart Farming Through Nutrition Managment For Crops.
Inventors include Dinesh D. Gaikwad; and Mahesh S. Chavan.
The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart farming system and method for automated soil nutrient management, soil pH regulation, irrigation control, and real-time crop monitoring. The system comprises a multi-parameter soil sensing unit configured to continuously measure soil moisture, soil temperature, soil pH, electrical conductivity (EC), nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K); an embedded processing unit; a memory storing crop-specific threshold values; a nutrient management subsystem comprising nutrient dosing units; a soil pH regulation subsystem; an irrigation control subsystem; a communication module; and a web-based monitoring platform. The embedded processing unit continuously acquires and analyses soil data, compares the measured values with predefined threshold values corresponding to different crop growth stages, and automatically actuates nutrient dosing units, pH regulation units, and irrigation units to maintain optimum soil conditions. The system further provides closed-loop feedback control by continuously monitoring the corrected soil parameters and terminating the respective operation upon achieving the desired threshold values. The web-based monitoring platform enables remote supervision, historical data storage, alert generation, and real-time visualization of field conditions. The invention improves nutrient utilization efficiency, reduces fertilizer and water consumption, minimizes manual intervention, enhances crop productivity, and provides a scalable, cost-effective, and sustainable precision agriculture solution suitable for various agricultural crops.
