Abstract: The present invention relates to a hybrid polymer-based formulation comprising bromelain for topical treatment of corns and other hyperkeratotic skin lesions. The formulation comprises bromelain, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), arrowroot starch, Eudragit, polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP K30), polyethylene glycol (PEG 400), and one or more pharmaceutically acceptable vehicles. The hybrid polymer matrix provides controlled and sustained release of bromelain for localized degradation of keratinized tissue while protecting surrounding healthy skin. The formulation may be provided as a topical patch, film, strip, or dressing and offers prolonged therapeutic activity, reduced application frequency, enhanced patient comfort, and improved management of corns and related keratinized skin conditions.
