Inventors include Senthil Rethinam; Baskar V; and Deepak Nallaswamy Veeraiyan.

The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention discloses a novel electrospun nanofibrous scaffold compnsmg demineralized bone matrix derived from fish bone integrated with polyvinyl alcohol (PV A) for bone tissue engineering applications. The demineralized matrix is prepared ti:om fish bone waste through controlled demineralization, followed by incorporation into a PV A polymer solution and fabrication into nanofibrous membranes using electrospinning. The developed scaffold exhibits a porous fibrous architecture, enhanced bioactivity, and the ability to promote bone apatite formation and osteoconductivity. The invention offers a cost-effective, biocompatible, and sustainable biomaterial for use in bone regeneration, orthopedic, and dental tissue repair applications. 2
