Abstract: The present invention relates to a system (100) for quorum sensing inhibition and biofilm disruption in pathogenic microorganisms using a C-phycocyanin-based composition. The system (100) comprises a C-phycocyanin composition unit (1) configured to provide a bioactive composition, a microbial exposure unit (2) configured to expose pathogenic microorganisms thereto, a quorum sensing inhibition unit (3) configured to suppress microbial communication pathways, a biofilm disruption unit (4) configured to inhibit and/or disrupt biofilm formation, an in-silico validation unit (5) configured to determine binding affinity of C-phycocyanin with quorum sensing regulatory proteins, an in-vitro validation unit (6) configured to perform biological assays for quorum sensing inhibition and antibiofilm activity, and an analysis unit (7) configured to correlate computational and experimental results. The system provides a natural, biocompatible, and eco-friendly approach for reducing virulence and biofilm-associated infections without primarily targeting microbial viability, thereby lowering the possibility of antimicrobial resistance development.
