MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641064223 A) filed by Jubin J Kurichiyil; Antony N P; and Varsha Paul on May 21, 2026, for A Non-Ionic Surfactant Composition With Optimized Hydrophilic-Lipophilic Balance For Agricultural Spray Applications.

Inventors include Jubin J Kurichiyil; Antony N P; and Varsha Paul.

The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a cost-effective, high-active non-ionic agricultural adjuvant composition designed to enhance the efficiency of agrochemical applications while significantly reducing required dosage levels. The formulation comprises a high surfactant system (~87% active content) including CRX-80 (30– 35%), Tween 80 (20–25%), and Span 80 (15–20%), combined with functional carriers such as propylene glycol (10–15%) and glycerine (5–10%), with the balance being water. The composition is free from silicone oils, ensuring plant compatibility and reduced phytotoxicity. The adjuvant improves wetting, spreading, penetration, and adhesion of agrochemicals, particularly copper sulphate and pesticide formulations, under diverse agricultural conditions. It is especially effective in humid tropical climates by enhancing leaf surface retention and reducing wash-off losses. The formulation enables farmers to achieve higher efficacy with lower chemical input, thereby reducing cost and environmental impact while improving crop safety and productivity.
