MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641080905 A) filed by Srm Institute Of Science And Technology on July 01, 2026, for A Non-Invasive Mechanical Nasal Dilator Apparatus And Process Thereof.
Inventors include Jaisri Srinivasan; and Dr. Bibin G Anand.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT Disclosed herein is a non-invasive mechanical nasal dilator apparatus (100) that comprises a mask-compatible bilateral frame assembly (102) configured for positioning in association with a face mask, a bilateral nasal valve contact arm assembly (104) positioned adjacent to respective left and right nasal valve regions, and a nasal contact arm positioning interface (110) configured for maintaining alignment of the bilateral nasal valve contact arm assembly (104). A push-lock and pull-release locking mechanism (112) is configured for selectively retaining and releasing an applied nasal dilation state. A bilateral rotary knob actuation unit (114) generates independent user-actuated mechanical inputs. A spool-and-filament tension transmission assembly (120) operatively connects the bilateral rotary knob actuation unit (114) with the bilateral nasal valve contact arm assembly (104) and transmits independently adjustable tensile forces for applying controlled lateral support to respective left and right nasal valve regions.
