Abstract: ABSTRACT A NITROGEN-ENRICHED VERMICOMPOST COMPOSITION AND ITS METHOD OF PREPARATION 5 The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of a nitrogen-enriched vermicompost composition, referred to as Hari Poshak Khad. The process comprises semi-decomposition of organic substrates including maize residues, duckweed, azolla, and neem leaves, followed by vermicomposting in a layered system using earthworms under controlled moisture conditions. The resulting composition is rich 10 in nitrogen and organic carbon and comprises neem-derived bioactive compounds including azadirachtin. The composition enhances plant growth, improves soil fertility, and provides plant immunity, thereby offering a sustainable and eco1friendly alternative to conventional fertilizers and plant protection inputs
