Abstract: The present invention a new solvent-free synthetic protocol for preparation of high hydroxyl value bio-polyol from niger oil using green catalyst. This bio-polyol is synthesized through an innovative in-situ epoxidation followed by a ring-opening process utilizing deep eutectic solvent (DES) use as a green catalyst and glacial acetic acid, and hydrogen peroxide is used in this reaction. Synthesis of bio-polyol from niger seed oil is a multi-step process. However, this one-step method effectively provides a simple route for the synthesis of polyol at industrial levels. This polyol can be used directly or modification can be done to synthesize polyurethane for various applications. Comprehensive characterization via various analytical and spectroscopy techniques confirms the successful synthesis of polyol. The results indicate that the process is promising and sustainable in terms of green chemistry organic transformations, offering significant potential for synthesizing bio-polyols and the advancement of green chemistry. This invention contributes to the field of vegetable oil by presenting a novel synthesizing bio-polyols for different applications.
