Abstract: In this context, the current study aims at developing an Intelligent IoT-Based Water Quality Monitoring and Prediction System for Drinking and Irrigation Using Machine Learning that provides consistent, precise, and real-time assessment of the water quality required for sustainable water resource management. In this regard, this system uses the integration of IoT sensors, cloud computing, and sophisticated machine learning techniques in order to continuously monitor the physicochemicall characteristics of water such as pH, temperature, turbidity, dissolved oxygen (DO), electrical conductivity (EC), and total dissolved solids (TDS). The data generated by these sensors is then pre-processed by performing various data pre-processing tasks including data cleaning, normalization, handling missing values, and feature selection. Subsequently, the pre-processed dataset is analyzed using supervised machine learning techniques such as SVM, RF, and ANN in order to classify the water quality. Anomaly detection and predictive analytics are also employed in this system to detect any anomalies and predict future trends regarding the quality of water. The methodology of the proposed system includes intelligent data acquisition, pre-processing, feature generation, training of model, classification, prediction, and visualization through cloud-based interface.
