MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511022710 A) filed by Deepak Chander on March 12, 2025, for A Nebulization Delivery Mask Elbow.
Inventor includes Deepak Chander.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a connector elbow for a non-invasive ventilation (NIV) mask configured to facilitate administration of aerosolized medication during ventilatory support. The connector elbow comprises a connector elbow body having a ventilator tubing connection port for connection to a ventilator circuit and a mask body connection port for connection to a non-invasive ventilation mask. The connector elbow further includes an integrated metered dose inhaler (MDI) port configured to receive a metered dose inhaler and a nebulizer port configured to connect a nebulization device. The MDI port and the nebulizer port are arranged to introduce aerosolized medication directly into the airflow passage within the connector elbow body for delivery to the patient without requiring disconnection of the ventilator circuit. The connector elbow may be provided in vented and non-vented configurations for compatibility with single-limb and dual-limb ventilator systems. The invention enables efficient aerosol drug delivery during non-invasive ventilation while maintaining continuous ventilatory support and reducing exposure to ambient air. Fig: 1
