Abstract: The present invention relates to a nanosensor-enabled terahertz (THz) in vivo wireless communication system and method for real- time cardiac health monitoring. The system comprises at least one implanted cardiac nanosensor, a terahertz communication module, a propagation analysis unit, a path-loss estimation unit, a receiver sensitivity unit, a relay management unit, one or more relay nodes, and an external receiver. Physiological sensing data generated by the nanosensor is transmitted through multiple biological tissue layers. The propagation analysis and path-loss estimation units determine cumulative attenuation and receiver sensitivity, while the relay management unit selectively activates relay nodes when direct communication cannot satisfy a minimum receiver sensitivity threshold, thereby establishing a reliable multi-hop terahertz communication pathway. The invention enables adaptive relay-assisted transmission through highly attenuating biological tissues, facilitating continuous and reliable real-time monitoring of cardiac physiological parameters and communication with external healthcare systems.
