Abstract: A nanofiber based transdermal drug delivery system is disclosed. The system comprises a backing layer, a drug loaded nanofiber matrix, a rate modulating interface, a permeation enhancing domain, a skin contacting adhesive zone, and a removable release liner. The nanofiber matrix provides high surface availability of a therapeutic agent, while the interface and enhancer regulate transfer toward skin. The construction improves handling, dose uniformity, adhesion, and sustained permeation for localized or systemic pharmaceutical administration through a target skin surface.
