MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641089689 A) filed by Sathyabama Institute Of Science And Technology on July 23, 2026, for A Nanocomposite For Energy Storage And Environmental Applications And Method Of Synthesis Thereof.

Inventor includes Dr. G. Murugadoss.

The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.

Abstract: A nanocomposite for energy storage and environmental applications and method of synthesis thereof are disclosed. Said nanocomposite broadly comprises: multi- walled carbon nanotubes; copper (II) acetate; nickel chloride; sodium borohydride; and polyvinylpyrrolidone. Said multi-walled carbon nanotubes and said sodium borohydride are in a weight ratio of about 1:10. Said multi-walled carbon nanotubes and said polyvinylpyrrolidone are in a weight ratio of about 1:10. Said copper (II) acetate and said nickel chloride are in a molar ratio of about 1:1. The disclosed nanocomposite (and/or method) offers at least the following advantages: offers high electrical conductivity; excellent mechanical strength; superior thermal conductivity; improved corrosion resistance; improved electrochemical stability and performance; offers a large number of active sites; improved electron transport, and increased structural endurance; and exhibits good cycling stability.
