MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611102029 A) filed by Chitkara University on August 24, 2026, for A Multimodal Sensing System With Ai-Based Triage Output.

Inventors include Rajwinder Kaur; Taruna Sharma; Puninder Kaur; and Gurjinder Singh.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: A portable multimodal breast screening and triage system (100) includes a compliant patient-contact frame (107), a pressure sensor array (108), near-infrared sensors (101), and microwave sensors (102) arranged to interrogate a common breast region without ionizing radiation. A synchronized acquisition controller (113) coordinates optical and microwave measurements, while a signal preprocessing stage (103) applies contact-quality validation, motion rejection, temperature compensation, calibration, and spatial registration. An edge processing circuit (116) executes an explainable AI classifier (104) that fuses co-registered physiological and dielectric maps to generate an abnormality probability score, an interpretable heatmap, and an uncertainty value. An uncertainty gating module (117) releases a non-diagnostic triage output only when modality-quality and uncertainty criteria are satisfied and otherwise commands reacquisition. A triage output interface (105) displays the result locally, and an encryption module (123) optionally transmits selected data through a remote access arrangement (106).
