MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641110999 A) filed by R. M. K. Engineering College on September 16, 2026, for A Multimodal Machine Learning System For Early Analysis, Risk Stratification And Progression Assessment Of Alzheimer’s Disease.

Inventor includes Mr. Vel Murugesh Kumar N.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a multimodal artificial intelligence and machine-learning system for computer-assisted analysis of Alzheimer’s disease-related cognitive impairment. The system receives one or more modalities comprising neuroimaging data, cognitive assessment data, speech or language data, demographic information and clinical parameters. A preprocessing module performs modality-specific cleaning, normalization, quality assessment and feature preparation. A feature extraction module generates quantitative representations, which are processed by one or more machine-learning models. A multimodal fusion module combines complementary information from different modalities to generate an integrated patient representation. An explainability module identifies influential features, imaging regions or characteristics associated with the computational output. The system generates a cognitive-status classification, risk or progression-related score, confidence information and data-quality indicator. A longitudinal module may compare assessments obtained at different time points. The generated output is provided as computer-assisted decision-support information for review by an authorized healthcare professional, thereby supporting structured analysis and longitudinal monitoring of Alzheimer’s disease-related characteristics.
