The multifunctional nanoparticle, wherein the mesoporous silica nanoparticles possess an average particle size of approximately 30 ± 5 nm. The multifunctional nanoparticle composition, wherein the nanoparticles possess a specific surface area of approximately 545.75 m²/g. A process for preparing green mesoporous silica nanoparticles comprising; preparation of syzygium jambos leaf extract (101) acts as a catalyst and synthesis of mesoporous silica nanoparticles by syzygium jambos leaf extract (102).
