Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a programmable temperature control system (100) and method operable over a wide temperature range including cryogenic conditions. The system (100) comprises a sensor interface compatible with RTD and thermocouple sensors coupled with an analog-to-digital converter (116) to acquire temperature data, and a central control unit configured to execute proportional–integral–derivative (PID) control logic. A signal processing assembly applies dual-stage digital filtering using a Kalman filter and a moving average filter to reduce thermal and electronic noise. An auto-tuning module determines PID parameters based on system oscillation using an oscillation-based tuning method. The system (100) operates in multiple control modes including manual, auto-tuning, ramp, and hybrid ramp–PID modes for stable regulation and thermal cycling. A power amplifier (114) drives a heater element based on calculated control signals, enabling precise, stable, and adaptive temperature control under varying thermal loads.
