Abstract: The invention provides a multi unit pellet system for modified release of an active pharmaceutical ingredient. The system comprises a dosage form body containing an immediate release pellet population, a sustained release pellet population, and optionally a delayed release pellet population. Each population includes drug containing cores and selected functional layers that regulate fluid ingress and drug release. The pellet populations are blended in predetermined ratios to obtain a combined release profile suitable for oral administration while maintaining dose uniformity, coating integrity, and manufacturing reproducibility.
