The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a coconut shell liquid smoke (CS-LS)-based herbal composition and its method of preparation for topical application on skin wound surfaces. Coconut shell liquid smoke is obtained through controlled pyrolysis of coconut shells (the hard endocarp of Cocos nucifera), followed by condensation to yield a biomass-derived liquid rich in bioactive compounds, including phenolic compounds, organic acids, and carbonyl compounds. These constituents impart significant antimicrobial, antioxidant, and preservative properties to the composition. Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GCMS) analysis is employed to identity and characterize the active chemical components responsible for the observed biological activity. The stabilized CS-LS formulation demonstrates strong antimicrobial efficacy against pathogenic bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, as well as fungal orgamsms including Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus fumigatus, and Candida albicans, as confirmed by agar well diffusion assays showing increased zones of inhibition and low minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC). The invention provides a safe, natural, and environmentally sustainable alternative to conventional synthetic topical antimicrobials, addressing limitations such as microbial resistance, skin irritation, and delayed wound healing, while supporting infection prevention and wound recovery.
