MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611115628 A) filed by Gla University, Mathura on September 26, 2026, for A Multi-Parametric Iot Architecture For Weather-Predictive Precision Irrigation.
Inventors include Shubham Sharma; and Dr. Pankaj Sonia.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a multi-parametric IoT architecture for weather-predictive precision irrigation comprising an ESP32 microcontroller (103), a soil moisture sensor (104), a DHT22 temperature and humidity sensor (105), a rain sensor (108), a WiFi/IoT/cloud interface (106), a cloud and weather API (107), a relay module (109), a water pump (110), and a solar-powered energy arrangement comprising a solar photovoltaic panel (100), charging module (101) and rechargeable battery (102). The ESP32 microcontroller (103) processes soil moisture information and cloud-based rain probability to determine irrigation operation. When soil moisture is below a target condition and rain probability is below 60%, irrigation is initiated, whereas rain probability exceeding 60% causes the irrigation cycle to be skipped or postponed. The system further provides remote monitoring, pump control and low-power sleep operation through an IoT-enabled mobile dashboard.
