MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641112492 A) filed by Andhra University on September 18, 2026, for A Multi-Modal Fault Diagnosis System For Rotating Machinery And Method Of Operation.

Inventors include Dr. K. Raj Kumar; and Dr. Retz Mahima.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure proposes a multi-modal fault diagnosis system (100) and method for rotating machinery. The multi-modal fault diagnosis system (100) comprises a computing device (102) having at least one processor (104) and a memory (106) storing executable instructions which, when executed by the processor (104), configure the computing device to operate a plurality of functional modules (108). The functional modules (108) comprise an input module (110), a signal- processing module (112), a first diagnostic module (114), a second diagnostic module (116), and a decision fusion module (118). The multi-modal fault diagnosis system (100) enables accurate detection and prediction of equipment faults through analysis of operational data acquired from one or more sensing modalities, thereby improving reliability and operational safety of industrial machinery. The multi-modal fault diagnosis system (100) improves decision-making for maintenance planning by storing historical operational data and diagnostic outcomes.
