Abstract: The present invention relates to a multi-layer identification and occupancy analytics system for segmented indoor environments. The system provides a distributed, hands-free attendance and monitoring solution capable of accurate real-time occupancy and footfall analysis across segmented areas. The system integrates long-range UHF radio-frequency identification readers positioned at entry and exit locations and short-range HF radio-frequency identification readers deployed at internal zone boundaries. Detection events are processed by edge processing units performing preliminary signal conditioning, timestamping, and packaging, and are transmitted through a lightweight message-oriented publish–subscribe communication layer. A central processing entity performs de-duplication and hardware-layer reconciliation of concurrent detection events using temporal clustering and signal-quality based prioritization to mitigate misattribution in overlapping read fields. The system computes segment-wise occupancy, attendance, and footfall metrics, enforces configurable occupancy thresholds, and generates alerts. A visualization interface presents real-time analytics, historical data, and monitoring information to support attendance automation, congestion mitigation, and space utilization analysis.
