Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a multi-layer coil structure (100b) for a wireless charger. The multi-layer coil structure for the wireless charger comprises a top winding (110), a bottom winding (112), and a coil former (114). The coil former comprises a first surface (116) and a second surface (118) opposite to the first surface, and a plurality of sectors (119a-c, 121a-c). The coil former also includes a plurality of through slots (120), on the first surface, formed between adjacent sectors among the plurality of sectors. The plurality of through slots are configured to allow seamless coupling of each phase of the top winding with a complementary phase of the bottom winding, such that each phase of the top winding and complementary bottom winding are arranged in a bipolar configuration using a single coil.
