Abstract: ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION: The present invention relates to a Multi-Band Reconfigurable Intelligent Antenna System designed for seamless integration of sixth-generation (6G) terrestrial wireless networks and satellite communication systems operating across Low Earth Orbit, Medium Earth Orbit, and Geostationary orbits. The system features a compact shared-aperture multi-layer metasurface antenna array incorporating interleaved sub-arrays optimized for simultaneous or sequential operation in sub-6 GHz frequency bands used by 6G, millimeter-wave bands, and traditional satellite communication bands including Ku and Ka. Reconfigurability is realized through a hybrid network of PIN diodes enabling rapid discrete switching of frequency states and radiation patterns, combined with varactor diodes providing continuous fine-tuning of resonant frequencies. An embedded artificial intelligence controller processes real-time channel state information, satellite orbital ephemeris, and quality-of-service requirements to autonomously determine optimal operational modes, including frequency selection, electronic beam steering, and polarization adaptation. This intelligent control enables reconfiguration latencies below fifty microseconds and supports predictive beam tracking of fast- moving LEO satellites. The dual-polarized architecture maintains high isolation between bands exceeding twenty-five decibels while achieving radiation efficiencies greater than eighty-five percent. Power consumption dedicated to reconfiguration remains under one hundred milliwatts through selective activation and passive modes, making the system suitable for battery-powered mobile terminals as well as power-constrained satellite payloads. Radiation-hardened variants of the control electronics allow space deployment. The invention further provides a control protocol aligned with emerging 3GPP Non-Terrestrial Network specifications and Open RAN frameworks. Prototype evaluations and electromagnetic simulations confirm multi-band coverage spanning 3.3-3.8 GHz, 24-29 GHz, 12-18 GHz, and 26.5-40 GHz ranges with gains scalable from eight to twenty-two dBi according to array size. By unifying multi-band capability, intelligent adaptation, and dual terrestrial-satellite functionality in a single compact system, the invention overcomes the limitations of conventional fixed antennas, single-band reconfigurable designs, and high-power phased arrays, thereby enabling efficient hybrid 6G-satellite connectivity for future communication infrastructures.
