Abstract: A mosquito repellent detergent formulation is disclosed. The mosquito repellent detergent formulation comprises 0.1 wt.% to 5 wt.% mosquito repellent substance; 1 wt.% to 60 wt.% detersive surfactant; 5 wt.% to 30 wt.% of any one substance selected from the group consisting of sodium carbonate, potassium carbonate sodium bicarbonate, potassium bicarbonate and borax; wherein, the mosquito repellent substance is selected from the group consisting of a compounds of formula (I), a compound of formula (II) and combinations thereof (Formula I) (Formula II). The mosquito repellent detergent formulation is suitable for use in home or industrial laundry cleaning by hand wash or for using in top load and front load washing machines.
