Abstract: A MODULAR WATER RESCUE ROBOT - A modular water rescue robot (100) for flooded, submerged, and debris-filled environments is disclosed. The robot (100) comprises a plurality of cylindrical modules (102) coupled in series by servo-actuated joints (104) enabling undulatory snake-like locomotion through confined aquatic spaces. At least one archimedean screw propeller module (10) including an archimedean screw propeller (22) provides propulsion with reduced entanglement risk. A sensor module (12) houses retractable hydrophones (24), a retractable LiDAR (26), and a waterproof microphone (28) for multi-modal victim detection. Upon localization, the joints (104) articulate to form a closed or semi-closed loop (32) around a victim, secured by a lock module (20). Airbag modules (14) deploy airbags (30) through a frangible seam (34) to provide regulated buoyancy. A battery module (16) and control module (18) support operation and wireless data transmission.
