MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611101833 A) filed by Graphic Era Deemed To Be University on August 24, 2026, for A Modular Vertipad Panel System And Method For Charging, Fire Suppression, Structural Monitoring And Lighting.
Inventors include Dr. Sanjay Kumar; and Dr. Ashulekha Gupta.
The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: The invention relates to aeronautical landing infrastructure for helicopters and electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, and provides a manufactured interlocking vertipad panel having an Aeronautical Surface Layer, a Structural Core Layer, and a Base Plate Layer with embedded piezoelectric load cell elements, charging contact pads, an addressable RGB LED matrix, a strain gauge array, a resistive heating element network, a fire suppression micro-channel network, an Edge Computing Unit, a Power Distribution Unit, and an Inter-Tile Communication Bus interface. Compared with conventional passive landing decks, the panel integrates aircraft presence sensing, controlled high-voltage DC charging, structural condition monitoring, de-icing or heating, thermal event detection, and localized fire suppression in a modular array synchronized between adjacent panels. The invention is principally useful for vertipads and helipads requiring rapid installation, safe charging, guidance lighting, and real-time structural and safety management.
