Abstract: A Modular Hybrid Hydrogen-Based Power Generation System with Controlled On-Demand Hydrogen Production and Integrated Battery Energy Storage The present invention relates to a modular hybrid hydrogen-powered generator system for decentralized and off-grid clean energy generation. The system utilizes solid-state sodium borohydride capsules stored in a replaceable cartridge for controlled on-demand hydrogen production. The capsules are dispensed into a passive mixer tank containing water to form a sodium borohydride solution, which is pumped into a hydrogen generation reactor comprising a spray-based liquid distributor and a hydrogel-based catalyst to enable continuous hydrolysis and stable hydrogen evolution. Generated hydrogen is routed to a surge vessel that buffers and stabilizes pressure before being supplied to a proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell stack for electricity generation. A filtration unit removes sodium metaborate by-products and enables closed- loop liquid recirculation. Electrical energy produced by the fuel cell is regulated through DC–DC converters to charge a lithium iron phosphate battery pack connected to a hybrid inverter. A programmable logic controller regulates hydrogen generation based on system demand.
