Abstract: TITLE: A MODULAR, VARIABLE-PORE NUTRIENT PRESERVATION SYSTEM FOR DOMESTIC STEAMING APPARATUS APPLICANT: MEENAKSHI ACADEMY OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH ABSTRACT The present invention discloses a nutrient preservation system for domestic steaming apparatus configured to provide controlled steam regulation during food preparation. The system comprises a modular base plate fabricated from anodized food-grade aluminum and incorporating a telescopically adjustable ring system for compatibility with cooking vessels of different diameters. A plurality of precision-cut steam vents is covered by heat-sensitive polymer flaps formed of BPA-free medical-grade silicone to define a variable-aperture steam regulation mechanism responsive to steam pressure. The regulated steam environment maintains controlled steam circulation to facilitate nutrient-preserving cooking while reducing heat loss and improving thermal efficiency. The system further includes a collapsible modular construction for compact storage and portability, and a reinforced peripheral rim for stable engagement with cooking vessels. The invention is suitable for steaming food products including Idli, Puttu, vegetables, dumplings, cereals, and other steam-cooked foods while enhancing adaptability, cooking efficiency, and nutritional preservation.
