Abstract: The present invention relates to a modified Austin-type dental retractor instrument incorporating dual retractor arms and an integrated suction conduit for simultaneous soft tissue retraction and fluid evacuation during dental and oral surgical procedures. The instrument comprises an elongated arm/handle (12), a junction body (20) connected to the distal end of the arm/handle (12), a buccal flap retractor (14) and a lingual side retractor (16) extending from the junction body (20), and a suction tip (18) positioned at the junction body (20) and connected to an integrated suction conduit extending through the arm/handle (12). The suction conduit is connectable to a standard dental suction system via a connector at the proximal end of the arm/handle (12). The retractor arms (14, 16) feature atraumatic rounded edges to minimise tissue trauma. The invention enhances operative visibility, reduces procedural interruptions, minimises instrument exchange, and improves clinical, efficiency during dental and oral surgical procedures.
