Abstract: The development of technological capabilities has given rise to the introduction of robo-advisors as an advanced means of providing investment advice automatically and conveniently. While such technologies become increasingly popular, user acceptance becomes an important issue, highly dependent on personal opinions and attitudes towards robo-advisors. Therefore, the current research paper will attempt to identify the main determinants of users' attitudes by incorporating concepts from the TAM model alongside some other behavioral and perceptual factors. The study focuses on the effect of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived convenience, hedonic motivation, and perceived trust on user attitudes. As shown in the paper, the concepts of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use are essential for developing positive attitudes through stressing functionality and simplicity of the service, whereas perceived convenience serves as another significant determinant that is related to flexibility and time savings. Furthermore, the concept of hedonic motivation helps to increase users' satisfaction and engagement, while the construct of perceived trust becomes essential in ensuring financial safety and reliability of the platform. It will be interesting to see how the findings can be applied to develop more efficient robo-advisors for financial institutions and fintech companies.
