The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT A Millet-Based Functional Food Composition Incorporating an Encapsulated Iron-Folate Delivery System A millet-based functional food composition comprising a millet-based food matrix (10) and an encapsulated iron-folate delivery system (20) is disclosed. The delivery system (20) comprises an iron source (21) and a folate source (22) enclosed within a food-compatible encapsulating matrix (23) comprising alginate or pectin. The encapsulation provides a physical interface to reduce micronutrient-matrix interactions, prevent organoleptic degradation, protect nutrients during processing and storage, and control release during digestion. The composition (30) is formulated into bars, cookies, snacks, beverage mixes, or extruded products. The invention provides a stable food platform for combined iron and folate delivery.
