MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511011060 A) filed by Foresight Biotech Private Limited on February 10, 2025, for A Microrna Based Anticancer Composition For Breast Cancer.

Inventors include Dr. Manvati, Siddharth; and Dr. Verma, Neeraj.

The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a micro-RNA (miRNA) for inducing apoptosis of cancer genes. The overexpression of miR-24-2 induces apoptosis of cancer genes selected from the group consisting of BCL-2, and H2AX and a combination thereof. The present disclosure also relates to an anticancer composition comprising the micro-RNA, miR-24-2 either alone or in combination with anticancer compounds wherein the composition induces apoptosis by targeting anti-apoptotic genes. The present disclosure also provides a method of down regulating the expression of anti-apoptotic genes comprising: (a) over expressing micro-RNA miR-24-2; and (b) inducing apoptosis. Further, the present disclosure provides a pharmaceutical composition comprising an effective amount of the anticancer composition as described hereinabove and one or more pharmaceutically acceptable additives. The pharmaceutically acceptable additives in the pharmaceutical composition are selected from the group consisting of carriers, diluents, stabilizing agents, solvents, flavoring agents, binders, lubricants and the like.
