MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511005139 A) filed by Lovely Professional University on January 22, 2025, for A Method Using Zeolite, Press-Mud, And Bio-Neema To Enhance Sweet Sorghum Growth In North India.
Inventors include Mastu Patel; Rubina Gill; and Prasann Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for enhancing the growth and Brix ratio of sweet sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench) by applying a combination of natural soil amendments: zeolite (1.5 t/ha), press-mud (15 t/ha), and bio-Neema (6 kg/ha) along with 75% of the recommended dose of chemical fertilizer (RDF). Zeolite improves nutrient retention and moisture holding, enhancing soil structure and reducing nutrient leaching. Press-mud enriches the soil with organic matter, boosting fertility and microbial activity. Bio-Neema provides natural pest control, reducing reliance on chemical pesticides. This method improves the overall growth, health, and Brix value of sweet sorghum, making it a more viable crop for bioenergy production, while supporting sustainable farming practices and resource efficiency.
