MUMBAI, India, June 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411091405 A) filed by University Of Lucknow on November 23, 2024, for A Method Of Synthesis Of Cuo Nanoparticles To Degrade The Organic Rh6g Dye From The Water.

Inventors include Roli Verma; and Akanksha Mishra.

The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the method of synthesizing copper oxide nanoparticles (CuO NPs) while prioritizing environmental responsibility by completely eliminating the use of hazardous chemicals. This synthesis method incorporates the utilization of an extract derived from Ocimum sanctum (basil) leaves and NaBH4 as natural and chemical reducing agents, respectively, for the formation of CuO NPs and the reduction of Rh6G dye. The CuO NPs exhibited an impressive 92% degradation efficiency of Rh6G dye in deionized water within 15 minutes, emphasizing the potential of this environmentally friendly synthesis route.
