Abstract: TITLE: A METHOD OF SCREENING PERIODONTITIS AND CORONARY HEART DISEASE APPLICANT: 1. MEENAKSHI ACADEMY OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH 2. MEENAKSHI AMMAL DENTAL COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL ABSTRACT The present invention discloses an integrated diagnostic system for evaluating risk of coronary heart disease (CHD) in patients with periodontitis through combined biomarker, genetic, periodontal, and cardiac assessment. The system comprises a sample collection unit, protein detection unit, genetic analysis unit, periodontal assessment unit, cardiac assessment unit, central processing unit (CPU), and display and output unit. The protein detection unit quantifies cofilin-2 protein levels, while the genetic analysis unit detects cofilin-2 (CFL2) rs80358250 polymorphism using real-time PCR analysis. The CPU integrates and correlates biological, periodontal, and cardiac parameters to generate diagnostic reports indicating synergistic occurrence and risk evaluation of periodontitis and CHD. The invention enables integrated multi-parameter diagnostic evaluation for hospitals, dental clinics, diagnostic laboratories, and research applications.
