MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202431009329 A) filed by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited on February 12, 2024, for A Method Of Providing Support Of Internal Beams Of A Sulphur Dioxide Take Away Equipment.

Abstract: The internals inside an absorber need to be supported using support beams (4). In rubber lined absorbers the support beams (4) can be welded directly on the carbon steel casing plate. If the casing plate is made of C276 clad it is difficult to weld the beams. There is danger that the C276 sheet can be peeled off due to the weight of the beams. The present disclosure discloses a method of providing support for an internal support beam (4) of an absorber. The method is characterized by a rectangular opening (9) in a casing plate, bringing the internal support beam (4) outside, welding the internal support beam (4) outside with a carbon steel side of a C276 plate (5) to provide support for the internal support beam (4). This provides an arrangement for proper support to the internal beams (4), avoids any risks and allows easy leak detection provision.
