MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531020168 A) filed by Tata Steel Limited on March 06, 2025, for A Method Of Producing A High-Density Iron-Silicon Powder.
Inventors include Abhijeet Premkumar Moon; Sista Kameswara Srikar; and Srinivas Dwarapudi.
The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a method of producing a high-density iron-silicon powder. The method includes mixing of iron oxide powder and ferro-silicon powder to produce a homogeneous mixture. Further, the homogeneous mixture is subjected to a first reduction process at a first predetermined temperature for a first predetermined time in a controlled environment, to form a partially-reduced homogeneous powder. Furthermore, the partially-reduced homogeneous powder is subjected to a second reduction process at a second predetermined temperature for a second predetermined time in the controlled environment, to produce the high- density iron-silicon powder. The high-density iron-silicon powder includes composition (in wt.%) of, silicon in a range of 2-12%, oxygen in a range of 0.05-0.95%, separately or a combined total of less than 2% of aluminium, chromium, titanium.
