Abstract: Abstract A METHOD OF PREPARING ADSORBENTS FOR REMOVAL OF ARSENIC The present invention relates to a method of preparing adsorbents such as activated coarse rutile, activated coarse ilmenite, nanoparticulate rutile and nanoparticulate ilmenite for removal of arsenic from liquids and a filtering device that utilizes these for removal of arsenic. The present invention relates to a method of adsorptive removal of trivalent and pentavalent arsenic from liquids that utilizes the said adsorbents for completely removing arsenic content in a continuous manner. The present invention also provides a method to regenerate spent adsorbent in a rapid, non-destructive manner that retains almost the full adsorptive potential of the fresh adsorbents such that it may be reused to adsorb more arsenic, thus maximizing efficiency of the adsorbents.
