Abstract: A method of preparation of Extended-Release Osmotic Bilayer Drug Delivery System for Type 2 Diabetes. This invention describes an advanced extended-release osmotic bilayer drug delivery system designed to enhance the management of Type 2 diabetes mellitus. The system comprises a semi-permeable membrane, an osmotic push layer, and a drug-containing layer, ensuring sustained and controlled drug release through a laser-drilled orifice. Leveraging osmotic principles, the system facilitates precise and predictable drug delivery, independent of gastrointestinal pH or motility, maintaining consistent plasma drug levels over 12–24 hours. This approach improves therapeutic efficacy, minimizes dosing frequency, and enhances patient compliance while reducing the risk of side effects associated with fluctuating drug concentrations. The system’s customizable release kinetics enable patient-specific adaptations, addressing individual needs based on disease progression or comorbidities. With applications across various anti-diabetic agents and potential extension to other chronic therapies, this invention establishes a scalable and innovative platform for controlled-release pharmaceutical formulations, promoting improved clinical outcomes and treatment adherence.
