MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621080444 A) filed by Executive Director, Ordnance Factory Jabalpur, A Unit Of Yantra India Limited on June 30, 2026, for A Method Of Manufacturing A Trail Spade For An Artillery Gun.
Inventor includes Singh, Amit Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: A method (100) of manufacturing a trail spade for an artillery gun includes preparing (102) a moulding sand mixture by combining silica sand with sodium silicate as a binder without water to prevent blow holes, porosity, and surface imperfections from occurring during casting. The method (100) includes packing (104) the prepared moulding sand mixture around a trail spade pattern to form a raw mould cavity. The method (100) includes passing (106) carbon dioxide gas through the formed raw mould cavity to react with the sodium silicate for hardening of the moulding sand mixture to form a hardened mould cavity. The method (100) includes pouring (108) a molten metal into the hardened mould cavity. The method (100) includes solidifying (110) the molten metal to form a trail spade casting. The trail spade casting withstands recoil-induced impact loads, compressive stresses, dynamic loading, cyclic stresses, and shock stresses generated during firing.
