The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: Present disclosure discloses a method of joining steel plates by a Submerged Arc Welding (SAW). The method includes positioning steel plates to be welded, adjacent to each other on a fixture. The adjacent edges of the steel plates is defined with a double V-grooved profile, which defines an area for laying a weld bead. Further the method includes positioning a welding head at the double V-grooved profile, and the welding head is equipped with an electrode. Furthermore, the method includes generating an arc in the welding head by supplying predetermined current and voltage to the electrode. The arc introduces a predetermined heat input onto the double V-grooved profile. Additionally, the method includes displacing the welding head along the double V-grooved profile at a predetermined speed to direct the arc along the double V-grooved profile. The arc melts a portion of the steel plates along the double V-grooved profile for joining the steel plates.
