Abstract: TITLE: “A METHOD FOR REDUCING PHOSPHORUS CONTENT FROM AN IRON ORE” ABSTRACT Present disclosure relates to a method for reducing phosphorus content from an iron ore. The method steps includes the step of crushing iron ore to a predetermined size. Further, reducing the crushed iron ore in presence of carbon at a predetermined temperature for a predetermined time period, to form a magnetite rich iron ore. After reducing, the magnetite rich iron ore is grinded to a second predetermined size. Further, subjecting the magnetite rich iron ore to a first magnetic intensity to segregate portion of high magnetite content iron ore from the magnetite rich iron ore. Furthermore, the high magnetite content iron ore is subjected to a second magnetic intensity, to segregate a low phosphorus containing magnetite rich iron ore. The first magnetic intensity is greater than the second magnetic intensity. Additionally, the low phosphorus containing iron ore includes phosphorus in weight percentage (wt%) less than 0.13%.
