Abstract: ABSTRACT A METHOD FOR PRODUCING BIOFUEL PRECURSORS FROM WASTES AND DIVERSE CARBONACEOUS FEEDSTOCKS The method involves producing biofuel precursors by subjecting a carbon-rich feedstock to alkaline hydrolysis to extract valuable organics, followed by converting these organics to biocrude using hydrothermal conversion. The process integrates the alkaline hydrolysis and hydrothermal conversion to efficiently extract and convert organics from feedstocks such as microalgal biomass, animal flesh, offal, slaughterhouse wastes, animal carcasses, seaweeds, seagrass, halophytes, municipal solid wastes, industrial waste, biosolids, agricultural residues, food waste, aquaculture waste, aquatic waste, or combinations thereof. The method includes steps for separating solids and treating phases to extract biocrude, with options for using solid residues as soil amendment and alkaline hydrolysate as plant growth promoter. The method also includes hydrothermal conversion of carbon-rich synthetic wastes with carbon-rich biogenic feedstocks or their hydrolysates to extract biosynthetic crude.
