The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a high-performance, anti-fogging, transparent, superhydrophobic, and self-cleaning coating for a transparent substrate, and an easy, an industrially viable and an industrially scalable method for fabrication of said coating thereof. The anti-fogging, transparent, superhydrophobic, and self-cleaning coating for a transparent substrate of the present invention comprising: (a) a base layer of a sol-gel derived alumina on the transparent substrate; and (b) a layer of a surface energy reducing agent chemically bonded to the base layer, wherein the base layer of the sol-gel derived alumina possesses a hierarchical micro–nano porous surface structure, and wherein the coating exhibits a superhydrophobic behavior characterized by a static water contact angle of at least 150° and a roll-off angle of =10°, while maintaining a high optical transparency, and delayed fog formation under accelerated condensation conditions. The method of fabrication of said coating has flexibility and adaptability for large-scale applications.
