Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for fabricating zirconia-reinforced aluminium-based super entropy alloy composites using powder metallurgy processing techniques configured to improve tribological and mechanical performance characteristics. The method comprises preparation of aluminium-based alloy powder and zirconia ceramic reinforcement powder, followed by controlled ball milling, uniaxial compaction, and thermal sintering operations. The powder mixture is ball milled at approximately 200 RPM for approximately four hours using a predetermined ball-to-powder ratio, compacted at approximately 50 MPa pressure, and sintered at approximately 520°C. The zirconia reinforcement particles improve microhardness, wear resistance, and frictional characteristics of the fabricated composite. A composite containing approximately 20% zirconia reinforcement demonstrates significantly improved hardness and reduced average coefficient of friction compared with unreinforced aluminium structures. The invention provides enhanced tribological durability, controlled microstructural formation, and improved operational performance for advanced industrial applications requiring high wear resistance and reduced frictional degradation.
