Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for context-aware chatbot personalization using reinforcement learning. The method includes receiving a user query through a conversational interface, acquiring contextual parameters associated with the user and interaction session, generating a context state vector, selecting a personalized conversational action through a reinforcement learning policy engine, generating a chatbot response according to the selected action, computing a reward value from explicit and implicit feedback, and updating a personalization policy for future interactions. The contextual parameters may include query semantics, interaction history, device type, communication channel, language preference, sentiment, urgency, domain category, and response acceptance data. The invention further includes a privacy-preserving user state manager for storing encoded preference states and a safe exploration controller for regulating adaptive learning in sensitive or high-risk contexts. The invention improves chatbot response relevance, reduces repeated queries, enhances session completion, controls personalization, and improves computational efficiency in cloud, edge, or hybrid conversational systems.
