MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611100537 A) filed by Manipal University Jaipur on August 20, 2026, for A Method And System For Real-Time Semantic Event-Based File Versioning And State Reconstruction.
Inventors include Satvik Porwal; Dr Surbhi Sharma; and Dr Prabhat Dixit.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for dynamically enabling semantic versioning of files in real time, as well as deterministic state-reconstruction. The system comprises a file watcher module to detects file operation in real time; a semantic classification engine to classify the events into create, append, overwrite, restore etc.; an event log persistence layer stores the event in JSON format; a StateMesh engine for maintaining a directed acyclic event graph; replay engine for reconstructing the file system state from event history; and communication module to share the event logs across the local network. Tracking of file changes in real-time removes the periodic snapshot of Github. The current invention makes use of a lightweight versioning infrastructure that is independent of the infrastructure used. Among other things this invention allows two people to work together, without being connected to the internet, they just need to be connected to one another using a local network, and continue to work, at a low cost of computation.
